Day 36 Numeracy (Powers of Ten, Metric System)

Students will get a copy of the following table on how to change one measurement to another. The instructor will give students a couple of examples.



Students will be shown that in the conversion process, as you move up the tanle the numbers will get smaller, and as they move down the table, they will get smaller.

Examples: Complete the following statements:

1. 5km = 5000m
2. 80L = .08 KL
3. 8g = 800 cg

Students will then complete the handout from page 26 of Mathematics Concepts, Student Workbook. to do as a class.
