Students will be introduced to the concept of a prime number (a number that can only be divided by itself and 1). Prime numbers are as follows; (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, ...)
Any number that is not a prime number is called a composite number. Students will then be given page 34 of Mathematics Concepts, Student Workbook, where they will identify if a number is Prime or Composite.
Prime Factorization
Therefore, 315 = 7 x 5 x 3 x 3Students will be shown how any number can be divided into its Prime Factors. Students will be given page 36 of Mathematics Concepts, Student Workbook; to complete the problems.
